[Mesa, Phoenix, AZ] T.R.I.B.E. Comics and Brick Cave Media LLC. today announce a strategic partnership to write and publish a series of Comic Books based on characters from the Stories of Haven Universe, a collection of stories created by writers Bob Nelson, J.A. Giunta, Nicholas Ozment and Sharon Skinner in 1994. Originally published in Anthology literary magazine between 1994-1997, the stories and characters have remain popular among comic book fans as they represented the unique style of Comics as Short Stories.
The agreement, announced by T.R.I.B.E. head Scott Shehi and Brick Cave Media CEO Bob Nelson, represents an unprecedented level of cooperation and common desire to lift the profile of both companies as well as the Haven stories themselves. Says Mr. Nelson, “We knew in 2012 that we wanted to finally bridge the gap and bring Haven to people’s eyes as a rich comic, we think that T.R.I.B.E.’s attention to detail and unique business approach perfectly compliment our own.” Says Mr. Shehi, “Haven gives us a rich, gritty world full of existing characters and plots to explore and share , we are thrilled that we will be creating a whole new world for comic fans to relish.”
The agreement sees Brick Cave Media providing story direction and art support, assigning artist Melvin Lambert to Coordinate the project. T.R.I.B.E. Head Scott Shehi will ink the project, and Joe Flores III Lead Colorist will provide lettering and coloring The first story will be appearing in the next Issue of Tribal Stories # 8., published by T.R.I.B.E. The two companies have agreed to work together on distribution of the titles. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
